What's Your Style?

Thanks to my good friend, Makayla, for letting me copy her post from yesterday!
She discovered a website called "Sproost" and it has this cute little quiz you can take that tells you what your decorating style is. If you want to take the quiz (and why wouldn't you? lol)
the link is here.
My style was 50% Mountain Lodge, 25% Nantucket and 25% Southwestern. Pretty sure the leather and warm colors of the Mountain Lodge Style are what gets me, not so much all the wood. The Nantucket style is all about light and airy, which looks nothing like my house now, but if I lived on the beach or in some little cottage that style would definitely be something I would go for! The earthy tones and the different textures of Southwestern have always been something I like. And I just loved looking at all the rooms! I'll probably go back to this site to get ideas for decorations for my house, which can always use some sprucing up.

Another Mission Call!

Alex got his mission call today! I'm so excited for him to serve in the Minnesota, Minneapolis mission. He'll report to the MTC on May 6! I'm sure there will be more news and excitement to come from my end...I'm a little preoccupied with my brothers' lives, and I'm sure they would tell me to butt out if they weren't so awesome!
Love em so much!

Pretty, Pretty Peas?

The subtitle to this post is
"Things you learn from dumping a 2 lb. bag of frozen peas on your kitchen floor".

1. Chances are, you opened the bag a couple weeks ago, just put it back in the freezer to save the rest for later, and didn't put it in a ziploc, or other sealable container. That is so your fault. You shouldn't do it again.

2. Frozen peas sweep up like beads, marbles, other small, hard, round objects. Not very easily, very time consuming.

3. If your kitchen floor is a little warm, you can almost mop while you're sweeping. The peas will begin to thaw while on the floor, creating a little layer of moisture on the floor! Take advantage of killing two birds with one stone.

4. It's Sunday, no shopping. So whatever grand scheme you had for those peas has just been foiled!

5. Dinner would have been so much better with peas!

6. You can't cry over spilled peas. Blog it instead.

Sunshine! (finally)

The sun is finally shining like it is supposed to, the rain has stopped (for now), the cars are washed and I am looking forward to a great spring! Since it was such a beautiful day, and Ryan and I both had the day off, I decided we should start the season off on a good (and slightly resolute and determined) note! We have so many opportunities to enjoy our awesome surroundings and we ARE going to get out more this year! Today it was Snow Canyon.
We are so lucky to live here!
My handsome hubby
In some kind of lava rock formation. Climbing down there was treacherous, but the picture was worth it!

Ducks in a row (well...sort of)

So I left for work this morning and I saw a bunch of these ducks by my mailbox! Of course, I couldn't take a picture because obviously, I was driving, and I was sad that I wouldn't be able to share it! But wouldn't you know, they were right there waiting for me when I got home this afternoon. I went out to take a picture and they were quacking like crazy. Now, I am pretty sure it isn't normal for ducks to be camped out on the sidewalk in February, but if it is, don't burst my bubble by telling me!

Short Visit!

It was so fun to see my grandparents before they left for Nauvoo this week. They were originally going to leave this weekend, but things got moved up, so we made a quick trip to see them in Tooele as they passed through. We arrived Wednesday night and they left early Thursday morning. The car was packed tight (I can't even imagine packing to be gone for 18 months and having it fit in my trunk!) Now they just have to DRIVE! I hope they make it there quickly and safely. The greatest part is that my parents added them onto their cell phone plan so now we can keep in touch more easily! I love technology!
